I knew about Matej Jan (a.k.a. Retronator) when he released his first iPhone game, Monkey Labour. Since I am an enthusiastic for Game & Watch handhelds and the game was really good I wrote a few words about it here.
Now I have in my hands one of his latest works: this Tribute Pixel Art Poster. An absolutely amazing pixelated homage to retro-gaming, full of details and printed with vivid colors over canvas. The kind of stuff that your wall needs, retro-gamer fellows.
You can buy one of this special hand-signed limited editions on Matej etsy shop or a regular print at society6.
And don’t forget to check out and follow Retronator’s tumblr site, designed as an old text adventure.

Also there’s this. That despite what the MPAA and RIAA and MOPTRJGFJFD-whatever organization is telling you about the people being the problem and that’s the reason why the music artists are failing, it is a flat out lie. There IS more to this picture’s story about how black artists in the 60s were forced to sign terrible contracts or face no contract at all but that’s not the point I’m trying to make here. It’s that the music industry is broken. In more ways than one.
If you can support smaller sites like bandcamp or artists that release their music directly from themselves if possible, so much more of the profits go straight to them… ya know… The ones making the music and not corporate fat cats.
This right here is exactly what is wrong with pop music today. In case you haven’t noticed… Domino by Jessie J, Last Friday Night by Katy Perry and now Broken Hearted by Karmin all use the exact same guitar riff/drum beat (The first two being produced by the infamous Dr. Luke and the third one might as well have been).
If you listen to all three songs you can nearly sing one over the next perfectly. Or make a stupid mash up showing how similar they are. Reminds me of the mashups of Nickelback’s songs that showed he just reused the same chord progressions for different songs on the same dang album. Unbelievable.

Drive’s soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Fit so perfectly with the film. It’s nice to have soundtracks that aren’t simple pop hits that weren’t even in the film.
Not intentional but I ended up taking two shots of this wall candle and thought it’d be cool to do a crappy pseudo-stereoscopic image. 3D!!!!
These wedding exit things are fun. This one I had some trouble with my flash so it’s not as smooth but oh well. This a couple from my church, Nichole and AJ Smith. They are lovely.
Insane sky at the park. So beautiful. (Taken with instagram)
The current whiteboard caricature in the office of me. I’d say I’ve left a lasting impression. (Taken with instagram)
